I live in Southern California and live the digital lifestyle. I love technology, engage in social networks and thanks to the Amazon Kindle enjoy reading again. I listen to many podcasts and am interested in the paranormal. I don't go ghost hunting or anything like that, but I love reading, viewing and listening to a great fright!

Here's my little guy in his hunter/gatherer/Alpha Male stance. He lives the Life of Riley. I awaken each morning to him nestled in the covers. Leave for work and he has yet to rise. Return home and he's in the same spot I left him ten hours earlier. If reincarnation is real, I want to come back as a pampered cat!

Arriving too early for a much needed hair cut resulted in waiting in the car. I was too tired for idle chit chat, so I opted to recline and listen to the iPod. Hmmm, I wonder what time of year it is. Any guesses? Wal*Mart's ready to greet and fulfill all your *uperbowl needs (someone told me I can't use the name?) Here is the Hello Kitty birthday cake I want. Isn't it cute? Between my mug fetish and buying a birthday gift, the gift won out and the recipient was quite happy with her gift. Not to mention the amount of caffeine it holds!

Thirteen things about music from the Sixties
~ It was very danceable and infectious
~ It's very upbeat, even when singing about unrequited love
~ I can understand the lyrics
~ Hell, I can Relate to them
~ The groups, whether male or female, had great harmony
~ I can't help smiling and feeling good while I listen
~ I love the percussion and orchestration that accompanied many songs (especially those Motown hits!)
~ Any song with snapping and clapping is going to get you moving!
~ I love a catchy name for a song and many songs had great names
~ It's a shame so many of the songs fall under the < than 3 minute rule
~ The sixties had some of the most memorable and fun dances to grace American Bandstand, Shindig and Gazzari's!
~ Of course, short songs mean I can fit 23 - 27 songs on one 80 minute CD!
~ Most music was bought on a 45 rpm vinyl record that had an 'A' and 'B' side. So even when the 45 sold for $1.25, you received two songs for the price of one. Sometimes you ended up liking the 'B' side just as much, if not more than, the 'A' side. Now we're expected to pay $ .99 for one song.

Tell us about your first Musical Obsession! We want to know.
Who was it? Oh boy, I was too young to know any personal stats about them, but young enough to recognize cute and good music – The Beatles.
Why did you like them? They were cute, bouncy and had catchy tunes that my sisters would go nuts over. They seemed so happy and bubbly and made me want to dance.
What were your favorite songs they did? As a child it was the cheesy pop songs: Love Me Do, Eight Days a Week, She Loves You, etc.
As I matured it became Revolution, Sgt. Pepper, Hey Jude, Magical Mystery Tour, In My Life, etc.
Do you still like them today? Why or Why not? Absolutely. Their music resonates in my life like no other band’s. It encompasses my childhood, teenage years and early adulthood. That’s quite an accomplishment when you think about it.

~ Tollhouse chocolate chip cookies with walnuts
~ Music
~ Rubber stamps
~ Funky, decorative socks (The more outrageous the better)

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
These are the tunes the iPod shuffled and played and I believe it's another totally 80s playlist. I did have one seventies song from Three Dog Night Black and White, but I really couldn't recall that playlist in windows, so deferred to the iPod.
~ Pet Shop Boys A Red Letter Day
~ Madness Our House
~ The Waitresses I Know what Boys Like
~ Romeo Void A Girl in Trouble
~ Tears for Fears Everybody wants to Rule the World
~ The Romantics Talking in your Sleep
~ Paul Young Every time You go Away
~ Psychedelic Furs Love My Way
~ The Eurythmics Would I Lie to You
~ The Motels Only the Lonely

I had to make my Sam's Club payment so off to Wal*Mart we went. Of course, my luck would have a snaking line at the customer service desk with each person having a major problem. My long awaited Mahjong set arrived and I was ecstatic! I've been wanting a nice set for about a year. My neighbor hooked me up. Boo has gnome fetish going on - that's the only to describe it. Yes indeed, this is the Travelocity Gnome and I have no idea where this little guy will end up. Boo would him to travel with us and me snapping his photo a la Amelie. Uh no, this will not be happening. Finally I stumbled upon the birthday cake design I want while ordering my ice cream sundae. She's a cutie, no?

Top 5 songs that make you hit the repeat button (songs that you can listen to over and over again)
~ Led Zeppelin The Song Remains the Same
~ The Rolling Stones Gimme Shelter
~ Guns N Roses Knockin' on Heaven's Door
~ Duran Duran Come Undone
~ Depeche Mode World In My Eyes
It's been awhile since I've made a mix CD, with the iPod and its ease in creating smart playlists, etc. it's almost rendered mix CDs extinct. I'm working on an eighties mix and want it completed by this weekend. We shall see...

Despite the bitter cold that Southern Californian’s are unaccustomed to, plants continue to thrive and bloom, bringing color and brightness during a dreary season. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our spirit was as strong and durable during the challenging moments in our life? Maybe it is, we just don't know it.
I left the house this morning to find my car windows iced over. In all my years living in

This week is a week of "lasts"
What was the last album you purchased? Nelly Furtado Loose.
When was the last time you listened to a cassette? Whoa, what a brain numbing question. I haven't a clue. Wild guess, pre-1999? I can tell you with certainty that I pitched all audiocassettes in February and May 2006. Just got the whole kit and kaboodle and tossed them out!
When was the last time you listened to a vinyl album? (Do you know what a vinyl album is?) Okay this is easier because I completed storing all the vinyl in 2006 and of course, I had to spin a few before retiring them. So 2006 is the last time I played vinyl.
When was the last time you watched a video (either MTV, Vh-1 or on a DVD or VHS)? Halloween 2006 Michael Jackson's Thriller mini-movie. Still as awesome today as it was back in the day.
What was the last online music purchase you made? Entire CD purchase was made from Amazon December 2006.
What was the last concert you attended? Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young at the Hollywood Bowl in 2006.
For this meme 2006 was a good year! LOL

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
When you meld with another, you also join your musical tastes…for better or worse.
Such is the fate of Boo and I: Boo a definite child of the sixties, though the rumor according to Boo, is that Boo has no era. Now I definitely have an era and that would be the seventies.
Boo has been prime time driving the car radio when we’re out and about but this weekend well, this girl just had to regain control and it couldn’t come sooner!
~ The Beatles Revolution
~ Derek & the Dominoes Layla
~ Led Zeppelin In My Time of Dying
~ The Doors Touch Me Babe
~ Jimi Hendrix Purple Haze
Once finished wigging out I went totally disco on Boo:
~ Anita Ward Ring My Bell
~ K.C. & the Sunshine Band Shake Your Booty
~ Donna Summer MacArthur Park
~ Patrick Hernandez Born to be Alive
~ Sylvester Mighty Real
Oh man, this chica’s feeling very good and happy right now! LOL

Ahhh, a relaxing Japanese meal at Asakuma surrounded by an uncluttered ambience. Only to return home and have Buddah insist that we sit a spell outdoors - it is freezing! Blogging is always fun, as is catching up with blogger friends and a pucker-up apple martini helps remove the chill on a 32 degree evening. I wanted another but I was designated driver. :-(

The house I live in is quite old and I think the insulation has evaporated because it is cold indoors. We've been wearing sweat pants, long sleeved shirts, slippers with socks and, in addition to the floor heater, using a space heater.
Since I'm always cold I also wear a vest to keep my back warm and am constantly drinking piping hot pomegranate tea from The Republic of Tea. A tea so flavorful and fragrant that it's delightful. If you're a tea drinker you have to check them out. Their apricot is fantastic in summer.
Ooops, off on an tangent...I pretty much don't venture out past 7 p.m. because the temps dip and I can't seem to keep warm enough. Life in L.A. means that when we receive word of even the slightest chance of rain, we are on Storm Watch.
This weekend's predicated cold snap has us on Frost Watch. LOL Thankfully, it hasn't materialized yet and I'm very hopeful that weather casters will be wrong. We're off to dinner this evening so I have to grin and bear it if does arrive. Wish me luck!

This week we're really taking you back.....
Let's pretend...
If you had a time machine:
What musical event would you attend that you couldn't have otherwise. Oh this is so easy...The Beatles arrival in America and one of their concerts. My girlfriend's husband has a ticket stub from the Beatles concert he attended. Uh, to be able to go back and be there.
If you could save one musician that died tragically, which one would it be and why? John Lennon because his music and message of peace still stands true today and is needed very badly. The FBI investigated him because they feared his popularity and message.
If you could go back and influence either radio/or Mtv to make one song a hit that wasn't, which one would it be and likewise, if you could make sure one song wasn't a hit, which one would it be and why? Rosanna. I don't know who sings it but that song received so much airplay that to this day I still can't stand it! LOL
These were fantastic questions this week and a lot of fun.

Thanks to Boo's job and the gift cards won, I bought the above system without using any of our cash! Yep, I like that a whole lot. Best Buy had a sale on a 2.1 system that I couldn't pass up - remember, Boo admonished me to buy a back speaker system now so that I'm prepared if/when my Yamaha system dies.
Of course, Boo may have felt this way because I was missing my speakers and music when I thought they'd died. Apologizing for my freak out didn't seem to help or change anything so...I succumed and followed Boo's advice. LOL It's not often Boo actively encourages me to spend money and buy electronics. This may be a very good year, indeed.
The weekend was very busy but fun. Little Girl had a vet appointment Saturday and all her bloodwork came out shining. She is in very good health and will have her teeth cleaned in February - dental month. She's always been Boo's cat, but I think she's loosening up as she let me pet her Saturday morning and visited with me.
We celebrated our first birthday on Wednesday night and then celebrated it again Sunday. The birthday gal has already spent her gift certificate, which surprised us since we had taken bets on how long it would last. We both lost and will not bet again. ;-)

I bought Lionel Richie's Coming Home and Carly Simon's Into White CDs. I have yet to buy music online but I will do so this year - it's a resolution, remember?
Anyway, I'm enjoying Lionel's CD immensely and wonder why he waited so long. Maybe it is simply pop music, but that's perfectly alright with me. It makes me feel happy and good and I like listening to it.
I haven't listened to Carly's yet; she's singing songs made popular by other musicians and singers. I hope she's not the female version of Rod Stewart.

My little Buddah gives me unconditional love and I am so blessed to have him as my shadow.
~ Irfanview A small program that packs a lot of punch when resizing, cropping or changing file type of photos. It's been around a long while and it's worth checking out.
~ iPodder AKA Juice Everyone knows that I love my iPod but hate iTunes, which is notorious for dropping podcasts that it feels I'm not listening to. Juice synchs with iPods just fine and lets you decided which podcasts to drop when.
~ StripMail Yes, I do forward emails, so what? You are not on my recipient list, deal. If you want to forward emails or save fun emails without the extraneous marks this small program will do it all. Your forwards will look like originals!

10 Resolutions for the Next Year
1)Spend more time with family

I am spending the morning at my command center updating blogs, listening to Keiko Matsui's The Piano, sipping coffee from my new mug and thinking about change. It's inevitable being the New Year is synonymous with resolutions.
So here's my view:
Good
~ This blog still exits
~ My passion for photography is rejuvenating
~ Different things in everyday life are capturing my attention
Change
~ Post more frequently (though not simply for the sake of posting)
~ Photograph with the intention of having one photograph monthly that I am proud of
~ Inspire myself with themes and perhaps, invite others to provide me a theme. (Scary but exciting at the same time. LOL)
Uncertain
~ Do I continue with commentary/thoughts when inspired or simply post photos and that's it? Feedback welcomed.
