I live in Southern California and live the digital lifestyle. I love technology, engage in social networks and thanks to the Amazon Kindle enjoy reading again. I listen to many podcasts and am interested in the paranormal. I don't go ghost hunting or anything like that, but I love reading, viewing and listening to a great fright!

The Burbank city council recently voted to tighten restrictions on smokers by banning smoking in all public spaces. I am not a smoker but feel badly that they are being further inhibited from enjoying themselves. It's their choice if they wish to risk their health and well-being and they should be able to smoke outdoors in a designated area. They're banned from smoking
indoors and many have been relegated to exposed outdoors areas, there's nothing left for them in some cities. At least this canopy/patio offers smokers some shelter and a PLACE to smoke.
Addendum:
One problem with mobile posts is they do not always correctly post. This one posted without the accompanying photo. Don't know why but it happens.

Take Me Back Tuesday
This week I want you to really take us back...
Pick a specific time in your life that you found enjoyable...tell us about it. This would be the eighties when Boo and I met. We spent a lot of time with friends and traveling as we introduced each other to our individual interests and hangouts with music always in the background highlighting the milestones of our courtship and subsequent relationship.
What music do you remember from that time? The Thompson Twins, The Human League, Peter Gabriel, The Tom Tom Club, The Information Society, Bowie, The S.O.S. Band, Madonna, Genesis, Phil Collins, Cyndi Lauper, Duran Duran, etc.
Why was that music important to you then? Because we were clubbing with friends and this is what we partied and chilled to. The radio played it like crazy and we would sing to the songs - sometimes changing the words to suit OUR view/experience and of course, this would just make us laugh and laugh.
Did the music help make that time enjoyable? The club music was fantastic and most of it was uplifting and just plain Fun. It was a carefree happy period filled with exploration, excitement and passion.
Sorry, I had to do this via mobile as I have no computer time tonight. It's Boo's birthday and we're out celebrating and enjoying ourselves with friends. It's either mobile or no posts!

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Forced to spend time at a Best Buy will have you observing every minutething! This group of fan boys was huddled around a Xbox 360 playing Guitar Hero with the music at ear splitting decibels. Ensconced in their perfect world they noticed nothing or no one else. I leave it to you to decide which songs on this list are from the Guitar Hero videogame.
~ GNR Sweet Child of Mine
~ Rolling Stones Brown Sugar
~ Spinal Tap Tonight I'm gonna Rock You
~ Rod Stewart Tonight I'm Yours
~ Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit
~ Cheap Trip Surrender
~ Black Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
~ Joe Cocker She Came in Through the Bathroom Window
~ Motley Crue Shout at the Devil
~ Beatles Revolution

We spent this weekend with our friend waiting for her car stereo to be installed. Her car was broken into and boy, did they clean her out! They totally damaged her console and stole her in-dash CD player (which didn't work), ashtray (go figure) and everything else that wasn't fastened.
We went to Best Buy for the new CD player and that's where our never ending wait began. Since I didn't anticipate such a long wait and didn't want to seem rude, I didn't take my iPod - talk about feeling regret. Thank God for SMSing, playing Bejeweled on the cell and watching the news otherwise, I would've gone nuts! We capped the evening off with a delightful dinner.

We celebrated our 27th Anniversary and I can tell you the years have whizzed past. It's all gone so fast and I'm quite surprised. It's a good thing that it doesn't feel like a long time, right? We still have the twinkle in the eyes for each other and we never seem to run out of things to talk and laugh about.
As we strolled along the streets of Burbank after dinner, we happened upon a discount bookstore. See this is what I love about Boo, I have a huge weakness for books and you would think Boo would discourage me from entering. No, I was encouraged and then missed a must-have book which Boo pointed out to me. I bought Lennon Revealed and of course, will read it at a later time. The book's price read $10 (hardback) but the owner charged us $8 - you know I love a bargain!
We've been on a DVD rental run as of late, so I've been watching a lot of movies. The ones worth mentioning are Casino Royale probably the best Bond flick I've seen in years. I love the grittier, tougher Bond and the use of no gadgets - yea, I did say this! Also To Live a spellbinding story about a Chinese couple's hardship and loss during a forty year span and how in spite of it all, they have the will to live.
I also received my DVD purchase of BBS: The Documentary today (I've been anxiously waiting since last week) and am hoping to view it this weekend. I know it's another weird purchase of mine but this is the kind of fare I like and find interesting.

Another hectic day of forced "shopping" and vet visit. Off to Fry's to feed my habit and keep me sane. Oh gosh, going there is like a kid being in a candy store! Back home for Little Girl's vet visit which she hated, of course. Then some outdoor sitting as Buddah roamed the grounds and made himself quite the hunter gatherer as I topped off the day with another Hello Kitty fantasy moment. I didn't buy anything but just fancied which items I'd want for my upcoming birthday. She doesn't have to the main gift...she could be an embellishment, no? Kind of like the bow on the wrapped gift!

Whoa, got me thinking about a televison show by the same name that ran during the seventies? It was about the trials and tribulations of emergency medics in a Los Angeles fire station. Can't remember any names but they were eye candy back then.
Anyway....we were at Bed, Bath & Beyond today and I came upon this Three Day Emergency Kit for Two for $49.99 and well, I thought it was a pretty good idea. I liked the way it was packaged in a red backpack and how convenient it would be to grab as I'm either: Running out of the house during an earthquake or fleeing my car in a disaster.
Isn't April Earthquake Preparedness Month or something? Well, if isn't, so what...you have now received a public service message compliments of moi! LOL

It's not far down to Paradise,
At least it's not for me.
And if the wind is right
You can sail away
and find tranquility.

Oh yea, you know I am one happy camper when I've been to the F word! This week they offered a 4 gig Memorex flash drive for $49.99 and after running to pick one up, I immediately set about filling it for transfer to another computer. These are so convenient to carry on my person and their capacities continue expanding - you should buy one for anyone on your birthday/Christmas list. One doesn't have to be a geek to find these flash drives useful. I am certain that I'll be buying another before the end of 2007 that is three times the capacity of my new drive at similar cost.

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
It's a mash up weekend of grooves, lyrics and genres. Thank goodness for the variety of DJ's mixing and mashing the tunes for us. I guess it is time to Surrender the booty!
What a fantastic weekend it was. The weather was bloody glorious and everything executed without a hitch, which is always cause for happiness and pats on the back! Of course, finding my missing cell phone was a nice cap to a flawless time. Egads, no cell - how will I moblog??
~ Tricky God
~ Fergie Flash*
~ Yea, Yeah, Yeahs v. Madonna*
I'm bigger than the sound.
I'm bigger than the sound.
I'm burning up for your love!
~ DJ Zerba New York avec Cure* (A jamming mash up that gets eveythang groovin')
~ Fade to Pretty Vacant*
~ Colderation
~ Pink Wedding
~ Steal My Doug*
~ Passenger Fever (Peggy Lee v. Iggy Pop) One of my favorites!*
~ Crystal is the Drug (Eve massacre mix)*

A fantastic and very happy celebration of my Mother's 81st birthday - that I should be so lucky to live as long. Mom's looking great, if I say so myself, and was in very good spirits which always does my heart a lot of good to see. We celebrated at Pirates in Buena Park, CA near Knott's Berry Farm and Mom repeated more than twice how she had a wonderful time and enjoyed the meal and entertainment.

Whew, I've been going through rough spots lately and feeling completely drained when I get home.
Seriously, if I can't moblog then nothing gets posted. I usually have the energy and time to blog mid afternoon, but can't use the work computer to do so. The challenge with moblogging is that the system I'm using doesn't allow for paragraphed entries or indented/list mode, which makes it a bummer when trying to do a Random Ten, Thursday Thirteen, etc.
I wish I could find a more convenient yet, inexpensive method of moblogging. I don't want to spend more $$$ on moblogging.

~ Now that the weather heating up we're privy to sightings of Little Girl as she prances about. A marked change from her condo in the garage where I sometimes do not see her for days. LOL Boo sees her daily as Little Girl is quite smitten with Boo.
~ I've been listening to MP3s on the Creative Muvo and iPod and I have to say that the sound level is much richer, deeper and clearer on the iPod. I don't have to crank up the volume much to clearly hear spoken word since I don't need to prematurely go deaf. It's bloody fantastic and I can't believe it.
I have fallen behind on listening to many things and the only way to catch up was to listen to one show at work and home. I'd sometimes forget where I'd left off and would relisten to parts of a show on both devices, this is how I discovered the differences in quality and listening enjoyment.
~ I've been arriving home too tired with eyes sometimes sizzling from staring at a computer screen at work, that it's affecting my posting. Thank God for the mobile posts or there'd likely be nothing.
One challenge posting from mobile cell presents is typing is cumbersome. Anyone have a better solution they'd like to share? I find the photo quality good enough but the entering of text is a bear.
~ If you haven't tried Google Reader you don't know what you're missing. I love this reader with its expanded view and ability to easily and conveniently share what interests me.
I've also tried standalone readers and Yahoo's but, since I'm always using one of Google's apps or Gmail, it's just so darned convenient with great presentation of topics. Yahoo's is so boring and staid that it's a gigantic leap backwards!

Now this Little Girl's a hard one to photograph because she is always in motion. The moment I am focused, she is prancing off to other areas at such a pace that it's hard to keep up. Little Girl should have been named Prancer! She's been ill and we've been doing our best to help her and restore her health. Fur companions, and this is what they are - they are our companions and confidantes - keep our deepest secrets and fears and provide unconditonal love regardless the terrible moods we are in. They embrace us like no other human form can.
