Better Fridays

I've had better Fridays...I was off today and decided to run errands with my mom. Let's just say, we didn't agree things and couldn't agree to disagree, so the day went steadily downhill from there. I returned home feeling very sad, upset and disappointed about how terrible the day had turned out.

Add to this, my error in uninstalling Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum. I did not intend to do this, but in my haste that's what happened. Long story short, I long ago lost the cardboard CD sleeve for the CD. Guess what, I need a TSID number, which the on screen installation instructs me can be found on the CD's case. Yup, the very case I no longer have - I am royally screwed! Anyone have an old copy of Roxio's version five they'd like to sell me for cheap?

I tell you, if the Lord didn't help me as much as He does, I'd be totally lost. He guides me as best He can, but I'm a special needs case! LOL I probably give the Lord so many headaches, even He sighs when He hears my voice.

The save of the day came when spouse arrived home. I did laundry and sat outside with Buddah and fiddled around the house. Neither of us had eaten since breakfast - mom didn't want to have lunch with me even - so, we decided to dine at a favorite Thai restaurant. Dinner was exquisite, leisurely and calming. We must've talked for two hours and then headed to the 99 Cent Store.

I suppose all chain stores are supposed to carry the same merchandise. However the Pasadena location had a larger variety and nicer garland, decorations and platters. B's job loves to decorate (remember Halloween?), so we ended up buying $50 in decorations, which the company will reimburse. The thing is, I had such an enjoyable time picking what to buy and coordinating the color scheme, etc. It was the lift I needed today.

We drove back to B's job to deliver the decorations and then stopped at a Michaels to do more shopping! We took our time, laughed and bought Buddah his Christmas bowl. It's a cat angel and, of course, it's cute! We cruised Old Town Pasadena and took the scenic route home. It's so clear tonight, that we could see Century City from the foothills of Glendale, an approximate 20 mile distance. Truly remarkable and spectacular.

Thursday Threesome

::Dancing Polar Bears::

Onesome: Dancing-- Dancing? Does anyone go dancing anymore? I mean, disco died, and the club scene? Hmmm... Is dancing dead? ...or are we just here on the web instead of out for the evening? Disco may be dead in your neck of the woods, but it's alive and well in Los Angeles. The club scene is also pulsating and the bass is beating loudly.

Twosome: Polar-- Polar bears seem to do well in the snow... How about you? Is snow just another thing you deal with when it shows up, or is it shutdown time? ...and if you're posting from a non-snowy locale, do you make trips to actually see snow? It's okay to admit it... I am from a non-snowy locale and I don't trek to the snow very often. I'm a palm tree type gal, who favors the sun and loves absorbing the heat! LOL

Threesome: Bears-- Bears? Christmas Bears? Have you seen the number of bears on the shelf this year? Are you getting one for anyone? ...or are you looking forward to receiving one? ...or do you still think that inguana in the elf outfit is more your style ? Bears and Christmas go together. They've got a synchronicity flowing. I bought a moose tonight. He's soft, cudly, and too darned cute! Who needs a bear?

;-)

Overdose of Pizza

Yup, you read correctly...I've eaten like a little piggy and O.D. on homemade pizza. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I never seem to tire of it. I do, however, tire of eating out at various pizzerias, so we've decided to try making our own.

We started with making our own crust and, while it was doable it was a hassle and took way too much time. When I'm hungry, I want my meal fast and I want it NOW! We graduated to buying the Pillsbury Pizza Crust (it comes in a biscuit-like canister) and that was faster. No more making and kneading dough, just rap the can against the sink and out pops pizza dough, ready for spreading on the pizza pan.

The pizza was good, but we had some problems with the dough not cooking in the center. I'm not in to gooey, so demerits were received for the Pillsbury dough. Yea, I'm tough and I make no apologies! LOL Tonight we've switched, yet again, to the Boboli Italian Pizza Crust.

The crust is ready for the fixings to be added and baked! It looks like bread and it was so delicious and soft, that spouse said I looked like I was meditating as I ate. Tonight's was the best homemade pizza and my vote is to stick with Boboli! We had pepperoni, black olives, Canadian bacon and mozzarella cheese, yum!

Our cubes are decorated and we seem to be the only gals with any spirit. Nevermind, we go about our day, working as we play music and enjoy the twinkling of our Christmas lights. I was supposed to stop at the 99 Cent store in search of blue or red garland, but uh, only remembered as I typed this. Uh, it's kinda late, so I screwed that up royally! Well, there's always tomorrow, right?

Nothing too fancy, but it works for us.

Toasty

I drove to work this morning feeling very toasty with my wool hooded coat and gloves, though, credit must go to spouse for reminding me to wear them! It was another bitter cold morning and I really had to push myself to get out of bed. I was lying in bed envisioning scenes from Misery of ice and snow covered mountains in blizzard-like conditions. Hey, my imagination's vivid! LOL

I started my crown work yesterday and am so glad that I waited until after the Thanksgiving holiday. I have to chew my solids on the opposite side and the temporary crown's very tender, indeed. I'm stuck like this for two solid weeks, so I'm grateful and hopeful that I'll be A-Okay for Christmas dinner. I can't have anything messing with my food! LOL
