The Puppet Man

I arrived for my noontime live music fest and instead was greeted by the Puppet Man and a throng of children. I thought Pershing Square did a fabulous job providing entertainment and recreation for the kids.


Introduced the children to MC Hamster, who edcated them on the perils of playing with matches. MC Hamster is holding a match to demonstrate.

King Tut Exhibit at the L.A. County Museum of Art

So far, this year has been one of accomplishments for us. In one meme challenge entry I commented about desiring to see a play and go to the museum, we've accomplished both by mid-year. We went to view the King Tut exhibit and I'm still in awe. The exhibit was exquisite with amazing sculpture, jewelry and craftsmanship. If you have an opportunity, this exhibit is a must see.

I arrived with camera in tow, extra 512 meg CF card in addition to one gig and fully charged batteries. Sadly, cameras were prohibited and I opted to respect their decision. I could have easily snuck my camera in, there was no electronic check of one's person, but I just wouldn't feel right doing it. Obviously many did, I saw the flash go off in several rooms.

We bought a small book that has the exhibit's highlights for $17.00. I couldn't see spending $50.00 for the coffee table volume, that price is a little too steep for us right now. We bought book marker and magnet souvenir's for our two friends and I'll have to rely on the exhibit's impression on my memory to recall this visit. I can't share enough about how spectacular the King Tut exhibit is.

Fun

J.Lo is the problem child in my department. She's out at least one day a week and catches loads of flak from all of us when she returns. People see her in the hallway and exclaim "Omigod, it is you!" As further flak, we paper her cube when she's gone again and then snap photos! LOL
