Friday Five
1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? I like to shop but only when I an enter the store, find what I want, pay and leave. I do not like to "window" shop or walk aimlessly looking for the "perfect" item.
2. What was the last thing you purchased? A down throw comforter from QVC for my father-in-law.
3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? It depends; online is convenient for used items like books, CDs, and software. The actual store is great for "real time" SALE items and rebates.
4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? I don't think so. I remember having chores to do and each payday my mom would let me pick one thing that I wanted. I was very content with this arrangement.
5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? Oh man, this is a tough one. I don't know if 'regret' is the right word, but I should have researched my digital camera purchase a lot more. In retrospect, I would have paid approximately $250 more to buy a Nikon Coolpix 5700, instead of the Canon S50. Both are 5.0 megapixel cameras, however, the Nikon has an 8X optical zoom compared to Canon's 3X. Of course, it's a $250 difference but, I should've paid it.
The Canon S50 shoots fantastic digital photos and I love the 30 second video mode. Considering how large the video files are, I don't shoot video often, but its quality is outstanding. I also like the S50's small, compact size and the sliding lens cover. The Nikon is larger and bulkier and I'd probably hesitate to carry it with me. I wish the S50 had a better optical zoom, though.
I live in Southern California and live the digital lifestyle. I love technology, engage in social networks and thanks to the Amazon Kindle enjoy reading again. I listen to many podcasts and am interested in the paranormal. I don't go ghost hunting or anything like that, but I love reading, viewing and listening to a great fright!

Monday Madness
Good day to everyone. This week's questions are all about reading. Let's go! (5 questions this week.........)
1. How many books have you read in the past year? None. I start a book, read about a third of it and never finish. I'm easily distracted by photography, blogging, current events, etc.
2. What book should be banned based on its boring subject matter? Statistic related books!
3. What book should be (or should have been) on the 'best seller' list but wasn't? Don't know.
4. What time of the day do you do most of your reading? My current event reading of the newspapers via my Palm Zire 71 is during my lunch hour. I don't have much time late in the day.
5. If you were to write a book, what would be its title? The life and times of ...

Let's do a bonus question for those of you who will be celebrating Thanksgiving next week. Thanks to Granni for the suggestion. (I felt this question shouldn't wait!)
What's On your Thanksgiving Day menu Right Now? (Well, for next Thursday. And for those of you who celebrated it in October, feel free to share with us what WAS on your menu!)
Thanksgiving menu:

- turkey with dressing
- fresh cranberries
- glazed carrots

Monday Madness
Well the holiday season is fast approaching and that means shopping, decorating and baking! Have fun!
1. Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? If not, when will you be starting? Definitely. I began in May by buying items as I came upon them. I probably should have waited for the promotions and sales but, my enthusiasm gets the best of me!
2. What are your favorite holiday goodies (baked goods, etc.)? Snow ball cookies, nuts, tamales, and champurado.
3. Do you decorate for Christmas? Inside, outside or both? When will you be putting your decorations up? I decorate outside with lights, window decorations and figures. Everything should be ready by Thanksgiving weekend. My orange "harvest" lights are out right now.
