Friday Five

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? I like to shop but only when I an enter the store, find what I want, pay and leave. I do not like to "window" shop or walk aimlessly looking for the "perfect" item.

2. What was the last thing you purchased? A down throw comforter from QVC for my father-in-law.

3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? It depends; online is convenient for used items like books, CDs, and software. The actual store is great for "real time" SALE items and rebates.

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? I don't think so. I remember having chores to do and each payday my mom would let me pick one thing that I wanted. I was very content with this arrangement.

5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? Oh man, this is a tough one. I don't know if 'regret' is the right word, but I should have researched my digital camera purchase a lot more. In retrospect, I would have paid approximately $250 more to buy a Nikon Coolpix 5700, instead of the Canon S50. Both are 5.0 megapixel cameras, however, the Nikon has an 8X optical zoom compared to Canon's 3X. Of course, it's a $250 difference but, I should've paid it.

The Canon S50 shoots fantastic digital photos and I love the 30 second video mode. Considering how large the video files are, I don't shoot video often, but its quality is outstanding. I also like the S50's small, compact size and the sliding lens cover. The Nikon is larger and bulkier and I'd probably hesitate to carry it with me. I wish the S50 had a better optical zoom, though.
