Wow, I can post! It's getting more and more frustrating trying to post. I feel like I should have all of my posts for the next two weeks prepared so I can post them at once.
Okay, I 'm still waiting to receive my first flick from Netflix and hoping it comes soon. I guess you don't find out what's coming until it arrives, right? You put various titles in your queue and wait. I'm hoping it's a recent film and not an oldie. I also hope that my X-Files season one set arrives in total and not one disc at a time. Anyone know?
Observation: The latest camphones have very good digital cameras and do make carrying a separate camera obsolete. I never use my regular 5.0 megapixel camera anymore. The camphone is just too darned convenient, light, portable and emailing the photo makes it more fun and faster to share.
Moblogging is also seamless and I can't get enough of it. I average 150 photos a month and 200 SMS', which isn't bad considering my limits 250 each and I haven't exhausted it! LOL I am also keeping in better contact with friends who, like me, gravitate to SMSing and sharing candid photos.
Boo, thanks for finally upgrading us to camphone and SMS. I know you thought it would be fad but, uh, it's not. Don't know if this is good or bad but....you're stuck!! ;-P
I live in Southern California and live the digital lifestyle. I love technology, engage in social networks and thanks to the Amazon Kindle enjoy reading again. I listen to many podcasts and am interested in the paranormal. I don't go ghost hunting or anything like that, but I love reading, viewing and listening to a great fright!

Netflix
This announcement will make a special Steven recently transplanted from Luling, TX very happy....I've signed up for Netflix. I finally did it and to tell the truth, I'm happy I did.
Between Steven and co-workers, I've heard great things about their selection, timeliness, responsiveness and convenience. How can I continue resisting convenience, especially as autumn arrives and the days grow shorter and cooler?
Now that my commute to work has changed dramatically, I no longer pass by my local video store and it seems like such a chore to purposely stop there. So, I'm awaiting my first delivery and we'll see how it goes.
I am especially thrilled to view old episodes of The X-Files and Dr. Who. I can view only so many contemporary films, but viewing some of my favorite old T.V. shows on DVD appeals to me. I can even view them in order!

Take Me Back Tuesday
My life has gone to the dogs, literally.
So now that I've got animals on the brain, I need some soothing music to ease my troubled mind.
So then it hits me.
Names.
Three songs.
Enigma Principles of Lust
Frank Sinatra his melodic voice makes any tune enjoyable and soothing.
The Carpenters For All We Know
Three artists. (oh come on now, this one's a gimme!)
Carly Simon, Ring, Hilary Stagg
Three albums.
El Chicano Viva Tirado!
Andrea Bocelli Romanza
Maria Callas La Dvina

In search of transfer service
I'm old school when it comes to music, I still have stuff on vinyl. Music that has Not been released on CD and likely never will because it's either too old or has a limited audience (low sales volume).
I am looking for a transfer service that will take my vinyl music and copy it to compact disc after removing scratches and hiss. I know I can Google and find a list of services, but I'm looking for personal recommendations/experiences.

A Day in My Life
We spent the day in Hollyweird again at the Hollywood Wax Museum, walking along the boulevard observing the stars and just enjoying the lovely day. Oh yea, we bought what will likely be our final Malibu Dream latte at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. It's a good thing too because the calories are never a good thing! LOL

The Cable Guy
Yep, had another visit from the cable company because the video on demand feature isn't working properly. There is nothing more frustrating then viewing a movie and 45 minutes into the film the feature becomes pixelated or the image freezes or the movie abruptly stops.
It happened during Wallace & Grommit and the Attack of the Wererabbit, The Constant Gardner and two foreign films. Charter Cable can pretty much mess with many things but not one of my foreign films! LOL
So they've now asked to assist them debug the problem by writing down all programs that experince problems and phoning in. Excuse me. I pay close to $100 bucks per month for my cable service and now I'm supposed problem solve? No. It's not happening.

I've run out of space!
Anyone with a computer, external speakers, a DSL/Cable modem, router, desk lamp, answering machine, etc. knows how easy and quickly it is to run out of electrical outlets.
The photo on the left shows the original set up. I didn't have room for a desk lamp. The choice was to either plug in another power strip (increasing the outlets and power) or use a new type of extension cord.
The photo on the right shows how new cord removed one power block from the mix and opened two slots: one for the original item and the other for a lamp. I can now see what I'm typing without straining my eyes or squinting!
I found these power strip mini cords in the Miles Kimball mail order catalog and I prefer these to others sold at Linen N Things because they're separate and individual where the others are connected like an octopus. It's easier for me to maneuver and use.

Take Me Back Tuesday
Do you like listening to the radio? why or why not? No. It's been so long since I've done so that my after-market car stereo erased all the presets from memory! LOL It's probably been three or months since I've listened to radio in my car.
How many songs can you remember that are about the radio or mention radio in the lyrics or title? Donna Summer On The Radio
Do you have any memories associated with the radio? Any memories of being in a car as a child included having the radio turned on with music playing. Thankfully, my family was not glued to talk radio consequently, I have music associations attached to most memories. I have always said that music's formed a tapestry of my life.
Have you ever called in a request to your favorite station? No. If I ever called a station it would be for a concert ticket give away.
Bonus:
If you could request a song right now what song would you pick? E.L.O.'s Roll Over Beethoven

A Day in My Life
The L.A. County Fair (which continues until October 1st) always has fun, the latest products, wonderfully creative crafts and great food. We walked our tootsies off and came home exhausted. Of course, no rest for the shoppers because next morn the cable guy arrived at 8:00 a.m. Perhaps we can view and hear Nip/Tuck when it's been DVR'd!

Super Wal*Mart
We attended the Super Wal*Mart grand opening in Rosemead, CA and boy, it is a huge store. If you have one in your area I'm sure you can relate.
This one has a freshly baked bakery section, deli counter, fresh produce that looks green and leafy, meat that looks healthy and red and a full sized grocery section. The electronics section has a well stocked DVD section and a fantastic selection of large TVs, etc.
I guesstimate it's 120,000 square feet! When I say it's huge I'm not kidding. The parking lot was full and the store crowded, but even so, I didn't feel cramped and the aisles were wide enough to accommodate two baskets in opposite directions.
Pretty much we were in and out of the store, regardless the long lines. The checkers were pretty quick and the lines moved fast. It's odd driving along the main drag to the store and viewing "Recall September 19th" signs in every other lawn.
We met this man at the McDonalds inside Wal*Mart who merrily agreed to pose for a photo. He explained how many Rosemead residents are so bitter and angry about the new Wal*Mart that they're strongly advocating the recall effort.
Many believe their council members sold them out to corporate interests and campaign funding. Regardless, we agreed that this Super Wal*Mart is a welcome addition to the community at large, as well. The new one's only four miles from my home where the others are ten miles or more.
One thing about all Wal*Marts, they sure know how to sucker shoppers into McDonalds. We were hungry by the time we finished, so we bought the Chicken Snack Wraps ($1.29 ea) and I have to say they were small but tasty. We each ate one, split an order of fries and shared a small coke. Perfect for taming the agitated beastie in our belly and renewing our energy to find our car.
One thing I don't understand about McDonalds: Why is the cheese in their cheeseburgers never melted? And why do they make a wrap without heating the tortilla? Boo returned to the counter to request the wrap be heated and was told "We normally do not heat tortilla."

Wax Figures
It had been years since I visited a wax museum. My favorite was the Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park, CA. They had class and paid meticulous attention to detail. Wax figures genuinely resembled their namesakes.
As I observed the Beverly Hillbillies at the Hollywood Wax Museum, a sadness enveloped me because the MWM is yet another So. Cal. attraction to bite the dust. It's eerie enough viewing lifeless, motionless figures that I expect to speak to me any minute, without reminiscing about MWM and the great outings I experienced.

As the days grow shorter...
...I'm reminded of things I've left unattended. Spring and summer always bring the play girl out on me. I don't want to do "work" like things when I'm away from work, I simply want to have fun.
So the time nears when daylight will be scarcer and the winds will come howling. How will I fill my time then? Probably by finally organizing my digital photos and backing them up.
I bought another external hard drive for photos and videos. May the time never come when I need them but, it's always said that it's not a matter of "if but when a hard drive crashes it is the worst feeling experienced."
Thank God I'll have plenty of time to organize and organize some more.
Thank God the prices for external drives continues to drop!

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
Neon, crowds, nightfall ingredients for a fantastic night out of music. This weekend's music was all over from rock, to blues, to R&B, to melancholy. It's just like life, right? When does everything flow absolutely smoothly? Rarely, that's when.
We're heading into autumn. The sun's axis changed in August. The days are getting shorter and the nights cooler. Soon not too many folks we'll be outdoors in the evening and it'll be time to cocoon.

A Day in My Life
We dined at Palermo's a favorite Italian restaurant in Hollyweird. We caught The Guinness Book of Records, strolled along the boulevard and observed this artist painting rock royalty and finished the day with a latte at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Another terrific weekend bites the dust and work is tomorrow. Sniffles all around...no happy dance.

Luigi's
Looking forward to a great meal, we dined at Luigi's in Anaheim and there is nothing more disappointing than a favorite haunt suddenly deciding to count every penny and going cheap!
My meal used to come with a salad and spaghetti. Yesterday I was asked salad OR spaghetti, that should've been my clue. Boo chose salad which turned out to be nothing but iceberg lettuce and dressing. Gone were the tomatoes, olives and shredded cheese.
My dish arrived and normally there are two even layers of split chicken breast. I eat the bottom one and save the top for lunch the next day. The bottom layer was half the size of the top.
Mid-way we finished the freshly baked bread, our server never inquired if we'd like more. In the past, the minute the bread basket was empty they'd offer. We had to ask the server for more root beer and he hesitated just enough to make the idea of returning leave a bad taste in my mouth.
The service at Luigi's has always been mediocre, but the quality and quantity to price ratio of food has always compensated for the shortcomings. Not this time. They've raised their prices again, are now serving less and the service has become worse. I will not be returning after 15 years of patronage.

Ripley's Believe It or Not!
Recently visited Ripley's and since I enjoy watching this show on the Sci-Fi channel, I enjoyed it that much more. The exhibits are intriguing and Mr. Ripley lived a very exciting life that had him travel to over 200 countries before flying became popluar. He obviously had a curiousity that propelled him to learn, explore and approach life with an open mind and zest for fun!

Paris Hilton DUI Arrest
By now you've all heard/read about it and may be consumed in acquiring every detail. Call it life in L.A. but, really - what's the big deal? Is this really so shocking or newsworthy?
I think not.
What I do want to know is what Paris was doing in such a skanky part of town? With her millions, can't she afford to live in Brentwood, The Palisades or Malibu?
Has daddy turned off the money train?
The area of Selma & Wilcox is scummy and fraught with prostitution, drug addicts and homeless people. What is an heiress to the Hilton fortune doing living three blocks away from this area? I don't have her money but you certainly couldn't pay me to live in that area.

Take Me Back Tuesday
Another summer behind us.
And another Labour Day weekend gone.
Name three songs that remind you of work, or that you work to.
Prince Love
Madonna Burning Up for Your Love
50 Cent Candy Shop
Name three artists that remind you of work, or that you work to.
Lionel Richie, Selena and Keith Sweat because they're in heavy rotation at work.
Name three albums that remind you of work, or that you work to.
Michael Jackson Off the Wall
Commodores Anthology
E.L.O. Anthology
Again, Nick plays these once a week.
Happy Meme'ing

Am I dense or someone please explain?
I understand Blogger's implementing upgrades (i.e. tags, font selection, etc.) and that's a good thing because most blogging software has the ability to tag entries.
What I do not understand is am I going to have to leave this blog dead in the water to upgrade to the new changes? Upon signing in I am asked if I wish to create a new blog and use the newest features.
I hope I'm wrong because I can't imagine not having tags in my future entries unless I start a new blog. That would be a loss and make me stay with what I have.
Insight anyone?

10 songs that sum up your weekend...or were on your weekend playlist...and one picture that relates back. (oh, and if you feel like it, tell us why you picked the songs you did)
I tease Boo unmercifully about the sixties and bubble gum music. The truth is some of the best music was created in that era and many rock legends thankfully, left their legacy for us. I owe a lot to the sixties and that's the truth!
These were heard as we drove to our play/musical. Boo was in charge of the radio!
~ jackson five never can say goodbye (Bouncing on my bed with an imaginary mic in hand singing my heart out!)
~ the human league don't you want me (Partying with friends and screaming this refrain.)
~ roy orbison pretty woman
~ the beatles eight days a week (Flashback of my sisters singing and dancing with music blaring.)
~ chi lites have you seen her
As we waited for the performance to begin, this guy was scrolling his notebook computer like crazy as he handpicked the playlist. The closest we got to contemporary was the seventies.
~ tom jones it's not unusual (Pictured my mom dancing and smiling as she vacuumed.)
~ three dog night joy to the world
~ jerry butler western union man
~ johnny nash i can see clearly now
~ frank sinatra fly me to the moon (Thought of FIL)
