Moody Monday Theme - Sassy

Oh, you're staring because you want this purse?!

Monday Madness

Have you seen those surveys floating around the internet and in emails? Well, I thought I'd challenge you to answer similar questions (nothing difficult or intrusive!) Here goes!

1. What was the name of the last movie you watched (DVD, v's, theatre, or TV)? 'Thirteen Going on Thirty. It was funny, witty and cute. Jennifer Garner did a fantastic job!

2. What were you doing on the internet before coming here? Reading my first email from my cousin. Though we live close in proximity, we hadn't communicated in three years. We reacquainted and had a great time at a family BBQ this weekend.

3. What color of pen do you usually write with? At work it's definitely black. At home for personal use it's my favorite color...purple.

4. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? My niece Ceci. I always enjoy our conversations and she's been immensely supportive, aside from my spouse, of Buddah's health challenges.

5. When is your birthday? (month and day) April 7th.

6. How organized is your computer desk? The desk itself is a mess. Like a tornado hit it but, I can find anything on it! LOL

7. How many calendars do you have in your house? Six - isn't that ridiculous???

8. Do you clip coupons and use them when doing your grocery shopping? You know, I've been there and tried that and....it just doesn't work for me. I'd either forget the coupons, lose them or they'd expire. I wasted more time clipping than receiving savings.

9. Are you a morning person or a night owl? Honestly, I'm a night owl. However, responsibility and employment force to be a morning person.

10. Did you enjoy your weekend? I did once Sunday arrived because my cat returned home from the hospital. The family's together and all is well. Supposedly, I'm to limit my contact with him to one hour daily for two weeks because he's radioactive. Quite frankly, it's not working out. He is accustomed to laying with us and receiving constant physical contact. I don't know what the actual risk is to me or my spouse, but we're willing to risk it.

Weekend Wonderings

Yikes! I'm sorry these are so late. Yesterday we had electrical problems and today I had a lot of unexpected company.... so now to the questions Since there's been so many severe storms lately these questions are weather based.

1. Every area has it's own kind of severe weather... what is it in your area? (ex. earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, floods...) I'm in California, which is definitely, earthquake country! Being a native and having experienced many earthquakes, I'm not afraid of them and I can deal with them.

2. What's the most severe weather incident you remember? That would be the 1994 Northridge earthquake. It did not affect me personally, as I lived several miles from its epicenter. But I remember the devastation of buildings, roads and main arteries and hundreds of people without housing.

3. What kind of natural disaster scares you the most? I'm most afraid of hurricanes or Tsunamis, which makes a lot sense since I'm afraid of large bodies of water.

Saturday-8:: A while back I was in a car wreck that peeled the front of my car like a banana. Looks like our resident Sat8'er Laura was in a wreck yesterday. Yes she's ok, but it remains to be seen about the car. Might be headed for the junk yard in the sky. Anyway, this might be a good excuse for a topic this week for the Sat8.

1. Have you ever been in a serious accident? If not, how about any accident? Thankfully, I've never been in a serious auto accident. I have experienced a work - related accident that will be with me for the remainder of my lifetime.

2. Have you ever been ticketed for an accident and if so did you pay it or fight it? Nope and I'm happy I haven't!

3. What kind of insurance do you have and would you recommend it to your friends? I have full coverage for one auto and what California mandates for the other older one. I would recommend you assess your auto's value when determining what type coverage to purchase. There is no value in over insuring an old, standard automobile.

4. Did the accident cause you to change the way you drive? I've witnessed an accident that prompted me to change how I hold the steering wheel. It's very easy to become lax about hand placement and even drive with only one hand on the wheel.

5. Did you need a rental car? If so, did you get a better car or worse one than you had? If not, what did you do for transportation? N/A

6. Have any of the mishaps you've experienced with your vehicles given you impressions of the quality or safety of certain vehicles? In the mid-90s I'd heard that Saturn's were supposed to be one of the safest vehicles on the market. I saw one minor accident where the Saturn's front and passenger driver side completely caved in and the windows shattered into hundreds of shards. The cars could not have exceeded 35 miles prior to collision. I certainly was not impressed with Saturns and would never consider buying one.

7. When in an accident were you alone, with someone, with your children, etc. Did that make a difference in the situation? The accidents I've witnessed have always been with passengers in the car. It makes it much easier to digest when you have other witnesses to discuss it with and share your feelings of disbelief and fear.

8. Finally if you could drive any vehicle you wanted, what would it be? A Toyota Sequoia or Cadillac Escalade

Friday Forum

In the Summertime ...

1] What do you think [or hope] the summer of 2004 will be like? I'm hoping that all of my loved ones will be in good health and spirit. I'm also hoping my cat will have a fun, relaxing summer void of any pain. He's been in a lot of pain lately and I'm just hoping this last stay in the hospital will be his last. I know I'll be out and about enjoying the glorious hot weather and laughing away the days. There will be plenty of BBQs, a couple baseball games, lots of board game play and movie going.

2] Are you planning any summer vacations, weekend getaways, parties, picnics, outings, etc.? No vacations planned, yet. Though, I usually prefer to go in the fall. It's too touristy right now and crowded. I have a lot to see and do right where I'm located. There will be parties, BBQs, outings and time spent with my nephews.

3] What has been the best summer of your life thus far? Funny, I can't think of one summer that was the best. They've always been happy, fun and memorable for me. I also cannot think of one that was the worst. I love the warm evenings and the sounds of children playing outdoors, people milling about and the crickets. I wish summer would last forever.

4] What is your area's summertime weather usually like? I'm in southern California so it's pretty warm. Now see, I say warm but my niece would disagree and say it's blazing! LOL It's comfortably warm and the warmer, the better!

5] What are your favorite summertime foods/drinks? Right at the top...a vanilla Ice Blended from the Coffee bean and Tea leaf. It's the first iced drink I have each summer and it officially starts the season. I also love all the fresh fruits and vegetables. Ahh, strawberries, mango, watermelon, canteloupe, cherries, peaches, apricots, plums, corn on the cob, etc. The more variety, the merrier!

2: In the US this is Memorial Day weekend, which means many families will be traveling, what do you do with your pet while you're on vacation? Take it with you? Board it? Pet sitter? We won't be going anywhere this holiday. Buddah returns home from the hospital on Sunday. He's been gone almost a full week. I'll be groveling and begging his forgiveness for leaving him at the hospital for a full week! When we do travel, we stay close to home, leave Buddah plenty of food and water and do not exceed three days absence.

3: What was the first pet you ever had? A German Sheppard named Dookie. He was the gentlest dog ever and he loved to play.

Random Questions; Random Days

Would you consider yourself an aggressive person? Why or why not? No, I don't believe I'm aggressive. Hopefully, those that know me, will agree! I'm not afraid of confrontation or easily intimidated, however, my philosophy is "what goes around, comes around". It's best if I do not perpetrate or perpetuate anything.

3x Thursday:

Music For The Masses...(Propaganda Style)

1. What do you think about car companies using popular music (take Cadillac and them using Led Zepplin) in their commercials? Do you think it's right for them to take a well-known song and use it for their own profit? If the artist is okay with it, then it's no problem for me. However, once the artist loses control, as the surviving Beatles have, then their discontent is duly noted and it's sad for me to hear Revolution associated with Nike shoes. McCartney and Starr have had their problems with Michael Jackson licensing The Beatles catalog to the highest bidder.

2. What is the trend lately with electronica music (triphop and breakbeat type stuff) being in commercials? Do you recognize any of it? Does it bother you? I can readily understand the use of electronica music in commercials. This is what helped artists like Moby gain recognition, acceptance and respect. For the artist, doing commercials is a potential goldmine and can lead to huge profits. It doesn't bother me at all.

3. Depending on what the product is, do you think that companies use certain music to cater to certain age groups? Does it work? Is it morally correct? Why/Why not? Oh yeah, companies have demographics for each product and they know exactly what they're doing when it comes to music. Want to cater to the boomer, play some Dylan, Beatles, Mamas and Papas and it works, too. Commercials wouldn't be as effective without music.

Bonus Question for Comments: For the music geeks out there: What's the meaning of this week's title for the 3x Thursday? (correct answers receive brownies with icing) Would Depeche agree this is music for the masses? In the context of Corporate America and marketing, the music associated with a specific product is to sell to the masses.

The Thursday Threesome

::Learning to Ride::

Onesome: Learning-- Hey, what would you like to learn how to do this Summer? Learn to ride a motorcycle (like Sarah)? Learn PHP? Learn how to chill out and vegetate properly? I'd like to learn Java the main program and improve my scripting. I'd like to improve my digital video editing skills , especially adding music to the video.

Twosome: to-- Too? Two? Okay, two things you are positively not going to learn how to do! Ever! Learn to tolerate heights and speak Chinese.

Threesome: Ride-- Speaking of motorcycles: Do you ride? Did you ever ride? ...or do you just enjoy them? ...or maybe, "No way!"? I love the sound and look of motorcycles, especially Hogs. I've been a passenger, never the driver! About three years past, I wanted to learn to ride a motorcycle. A local J.C. in my area offers classes. Just as in Driver's Ed., I wondered if they supplied the motorcycle or if I already had to own/have access to one.

How do you feel about rummage sales? Do you shop at them, do you ever have one? I like shopping at them, but I don't want to host one. They are a lot of work. A lot of work. Your entire day is spent waiting and haggling. I give most of my stuff to the Shelter for Abused Women and Children in downton L.A. or to other shelters. I've stopped donating to the Goodwill and Salvation Army because they turn around and sell the items.

Wednesday Whatevers

1. Should somebody be your enemy if they are your parents' enemy? Why? Oh, absolutely not. I believe two people bring their individual dynamic into a relationship. One mixture may be volatile, while my relationship with the person may be calm. No two relationships are the same.

2. Why do you answer memes? Some are fun and interesting, others are good filler. Either way, they always provide a good read as long as the blogger puts her heart into it.

3. Do you use net slang or type correctly? I do type correctly and sometimes use Net slang. Even when IMing, I type correctly. Sad, isn't it?

Buddah

Good news...he ate very well this morning and was working on his dinner as I spoke to the doctor's technician. She spoke very caringly about Buddah and well behaved he is. He's calm - which I'm ecstatic to hear. The last thing I want is for him to be upset or anxious. I can't wait to see him. They did have to administer two radiation injections, meaning he will not return home until Sunday. Had he necessitated only one, he would have been home by Thursday. Oh well, I'm thinking positive and counting the days!

What's your favorite board game and why? Oh dear, that's a loaded question. Does Boggle count as a board game? If not, I know Scrabble does, though, Boggle is the game most often played. I like word games a lot and enjoy the vocabulary challenge, as well as the chance to learn new words. Of course, the Scrabble Players Dictionary is a must during game play. Word challenges are inevitable!

Tuesday Twosome

End of May:

1. Name two things you will miss this summer: It never lasts long enough and there are never enough BBQs.

2. Name two things that you won't miss this summer: The cold, damp mornings of winter and early spring and the short days.

3. Vacation: "Planning on one" or "Don't have the time and/or money to take one": Money's a little tight this year, so I'll be staying close to home. This isn't a problem, though, since I love being home.

4. Warmer weather: "Finally" or "Crap! I want cooler weather": Shazam, bring on the heat and finally give us the temps in the 90s and 100s!

5. Memorial Day (USA): "A much needed day off" or "I have to work": A much welcomed and needed day off, to be sure.

Buddah Update

His radiation injection was administered this evening and his appetite is not good. However, since he was treated so late in the afternoon, it's possible his appetite will improve tomorrow and I shouldn't be overly concerned. This is per the physician, of course. I miss him terribly and the house is very quiet without the pitter patter of his paw pads and his shout outs.

Monday Madness

This week it's all about blogs! On to the questions...

1. I started blogging about one and a half years ago.

2. I try to post a new entry in my meme blog about every day.

3. I read about six blogs on a regular basis.

4. I change my layout about once a year.

5. I used to watch more TV, and now I blog instead.

6. I spend more time blogging than I do reading and watching TV.

7. I tend to blog (and visit blogs) most in the early to late evening after work and dinner.

8. The thing I enjoy most about blogging is it's written by the common person for individuals. Corporate America hasn't appropriated yet for marketing to the masses.

How do you feel about organ donations? Before the UCLA organ donor program scandal, I was inclined to consider participating. However, after all the horror stories by surviving family members of donors and accounts from witnesses, I feel, well - scared. I'm not considering it for myself and I certainly will not suggest it to others. This entire scandal left me shaken.

Welcome to The Hollywood Tower Hotel, (some call it the Tower of Terror). We hope you enjoy your stay.
The Hollywood Tower Hotel

Disney's California Adventure theme park recently added a new attraction called The Tower of Terror. I've not given anything away about the quality of the ride, scare or thrill factor or anything else. You'll have to experience it for yourself! I thought a few photos would be a nice enticement, though.

What a quaint sitting area. Perfect for playing a quick game of Rummy, except that it's cobwebbed and dusty! Where have the players gone?

Webbed snarling dragons, give a sense of the accommodations.

The dimly lit main lobby of the Hollywood Tower Hotel. After exiting this room, you enter a foyer (a la the Haunted Mansion) where the suspense level is kicked up several notches!

Centerpiece of main lobby.

As only Disney can do, the moment you enter the main waiting area, the lighting and interior design leave you in darkness and a feeling that you've entered the bowels of something sinister.

You've entered the interior of the ride (a la Space Mountain). You're now waiting to be assigned your 'service elevator'.
Weekend Wonderings

Your computer

1. What kind of computer do you have? Describe it for me! (Like how big is your hard drive, how much memory you have...) I have a desktop computer with 384 megs of RAM, the original 30 gig hard drive and an added 120 gig hard drive. Digital photos take a lot of space! I also have a notebook with the original 20 gig hard drive and 256 megs of RAM. All the computers have CDRW's for backup.

2. How long have you had your computer? Do you plan on getting a new one soon? I believe these are since 2000. I don't plan on upgrading at this time. I'll wait until the new bus speeds and memory have the kinks worked out.

3. How many computers do you have in your home? Are they networked/firewalled? I have three and they are not networked. They are firewalled via software, but sinice I do not have broadband access, I don't have them connected via a router.

This is the main coaster at Disney's California Adventure. Look closely and you'll see the hoop through Mickey's face.

The baskets at the very end are supposed to be stationary. As I discovered, they move with enough wind!

I Got the Music in Me

1] You're making a CD mix titled, "The Soundtrack of My Life." Which songs would you include, and why? Here are some songs that I would most likely include, for various reasons [lyrics are very important to me!]:

In My Life - The Beatles

Blue Money - Van Morrison

Kashmir - Led Zepplin

Just Like Starting Over - John Lennon

Pledge My Love - Peaches and Herb

Always - Atlantic Starr

Hot Fun in the Summertime - Sly & the Family Stone

Revolution - The Beatles

Sympathy for the Devil - The Stones

Everybody is Star - Sly & the Family Stone

Santa Monica Bl. - Sheryl Crow

2] What is your favorite song right now?

Feels Like Home - Norah Jones

3] You're feeling down, sad, lonely, frustrated, angry ... which song[s] do you play to help yourself feel better?

Laugh all that you want, when I'm feeling done I play Disco music. Donna Summer, Sylvester, Patrick Hernandez, Thelma Houston, Rolls Royce, Brick, The Village People, The Johnson Brothers, Earth, Wind & Fire, etc.

4] Do you watch the TV show "American Idol" ? Why/why not? Who do you think will win the competition?

I watch very little network television. I am a cable channel viewer and am out of synch with what's hip on regular TV.

5] Do most of your friends generally share your taste in music? No. I'm in my own universe and glad to be so. LOL I like all kinds of music and can easily listen to R&B, Spanish, Disco, 60s Oldies and Rock all in one sitting with no problem! I have one CD player that's a 5 CD changer; I fill that puppy with all the aforementioned and let it play. LOL

T., a supervisor and friend at work, rode this bike around the office today, honking the horn everywhere he went! As he passed, you'd hear people shouting: "Tamales! Sandia! Tacos! Raspadas! Churros!"

It was just one of those days when everyone was feeling tired and needed a stress breaker. T. provided that with his loud horn as he whizzed around the office. We joked that we needed to post Stop signs at intersecting cubicles! We still don't know where it came from, only that it's a foldable bike!

::Beginnings, Middles and Ends::

Onesome- Beginnings: Are there any television shows out there that you've watched regularly from the very beginning? Or for those of you not into TV, any book authors that you've read from the very beginning? Stargate SG1, The Dead Zone, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under and Millennium.

Twosome- Middles: What about shows that you came into in the middle of the season but immediately grabbed your attention and turned you into a die-hard fan? Again, for non-TV fans, have you ever begun reading a series of books in the middle and then just had to read everything else in the series? North Mission Road, The X-Files, and the original Star Trek.

Threesome- And Ends: Recently, a number of big name shows have ended, Friends, Fraiser, The Drew Carey Show, and the cult hit, Angel. Did you watch any of the big finales? Have you ever been really sad to see a show go? Ok, readers, here's one for you. Have you ever read the end of a book first? Why? ;) No, I didn't see the finales of any of these shows. I lost interest in Drew Carey years past, right about the time Mimi married Drew's brother. I felt the show lost its way then.

Shrek 2 opens this weekend in theaters, hoping to be an even bigger hit than the prequel. From Antz, to Mulan, to The Lion King, to Heavy Metal, even Anime; There are hundreds of animated movies.

1. What is your favorite animated movie? That's so easy...Snow White. I'm still partial to the classic animation movies. If I have to pick a contemporary one, it would be Monsters Inc.

2. Which animated movie is your least favorite? Probably, Antz. It was too realistic in its coloring. Everything was brown!

3. Who is your favorite animated movie character? Mike from Monsters Inc.

Wednesday Whatevers

1. Would you want an arranged marriage or choose your own? Why? If it's arranged, I better have the lifestlye of a queen. Otherwise, I'd marry for love.

2. What would you sacrifice for someone else? Material and luxury items for someone I love.

3. Do you think God has a gender? If so, what is it? No, I don't. Nor do I have a concept of what God looks like.

RE: Blog

1. Have you made lasting friendships via your blog that grew into a ‘real life’ friendship?

No, I haven't yet made any. I think it's great when that happens, though. I've blogged before about missing the Bulletin Board System (BBS) communities of years past. I made many wonderful friendships then and we would gather for BBQs and such. Sometimes I think the expansive geography that is the Internet and the blogging community, prevents such personal relationships from forming.

2. How many of your offline conversations with friends, family, co-workers contain the words, “I blogged about that the other day….”?

None. I don't blog about current news events, unless it's in the context of answering a meme question. Otherwise, politics and current news events are left for the pros and pundits.

3. Regarding blog templates - have you made any cool updates to your digs?

I recently changed the color scheme, updated the meme links, added photos, added comments, and made other adjustments. I'm constantly fiddling with it. It's something that I enjoy doing and want it to look good.

4. Have any blogs given you inspiration this week - - good, bad or ugly?

I don't know about inspiration, as much as laughter and lots of smiles. I love the sense of humor of many bloggers. Some are self deprecating, others are just plain funny!

Gmail Update

I've been using Gmail for about two weeks now and am quite pleased with it. One feature I'm totally jazzed about is message threads belonging to one subject, being grouped in one folder and collapsed into chronological order for easy reading. In my Yahoo and Hotmail accounts, the message threads are spread all over the place and separated. I must open each individual email.

Gmail allows 10 megabyte attachments. How many times has my Yahoo or Hotmail account bounced back attachments exceeding 2 megabytes? A lot! I've received many an angry email inquiring why my account is bouncing the email back. I can even send myself large files from work and not worry about it.

Now for the ads, they're the size of Google's regular text ads and are so unobtrusive, I forget they're there! Obviously, Yahoo's worried. They're increasing their mailbox per individual to 100 megabytes, in direct response to Google's 1 gigabyte. I don't know when Google's releasing Gmail to the public, but when they do, I would not hesitate securing an account.

How mobile are you? If the perfect job opportunity came up but it was in a different state, or country, would you be able to accept the job? I would be able to accept the job and my spouse would join me as soon as possible.

We'd miss each other terribly, but our relationship is mature enough and we're confident in each other, not to worry about external things/people. We've actually discussed this scenario. Now that would be a perfect situation at this juncture.

3. Which song are you proud to say you remember (most of) the lyrics to??? The Brady Bunch theme

Here's a story, of a lovely lady

who was bringing up three very lovely girls

All of them had hair of gold,

just like their mother

the youngest one in curls.

And then one day when the lady met this fellow

and they knew that it was much more than a hunch

that this group must somehow form a family

that's the way they all became the Brady Bunch.

That's way we became the Brady Bunch!

4. Would you date someone just because their popular? No.

5. If your parents disapproved of your relationship, what would you do? If I'm serious about the person, I continued dating. If not, let them go.

2. What do you think the minumum age for voting should be? Why? 18 years is good enough. Many eighteen year olds are responsible thinkers and some are keenly aware of what's going on. I don't believe it should be lowered.

3. What minumum age do you think someome should be before they're drafted to war? Why? The minimum draft age should be 25. At 18 years they're not emotionally prepared for the horror of war. God forbid, they should become a POW.

& an extra...

4. Do you think the draft should be implemented now for Iraq? Why? Definitely not. Besides, I Bush declared victory months ago and said "we are not at war", so why do we now need the draft?

Head to toe fashion

1. Is your hair its natural color right now and do you wear your hair long or short? It sure is its natural color. I've never dyed my hair and, after viewing damaged hair from dying and bleaching, I don't think I ever want to. It's semi-long, shoulder length.

2. Shirts: long sleeves or short? Short or sleeveless.

3. Do you wear a belt? Nah.

4. Tell me about your favorite bottom wear (pants/jeans/shorts/skirts). All of the mentioned except skirts.

5. How many pairs of shoes do you own? At least 40 pairs.

saturday-8 :: movies and oil...

1. today i am going to see the movie "troy," as it stars my favourite actor of all time, the british sex god sean bean. are you planning on seeing it? why or why not? Although I like Brad Pitt a lot, the film makers seem to have taken too much liberty with the story and history. This will be a DVD rental for me. I'm just not feeling it.

2. the other day i purchased gas for $2.07 per gallon. i about threw up. what is the current gas price in your area? (please specify grade) Regular grade gas is selling for $2.25 in the Los Angeles area.

3. sean bean is my lust, and the german actor thomas kretschmann comes in at a close second. who are your first and second actor/actress "loves"? There aren't any that I lust over, however, I really enjoy Brad Pitt, Nicolas Cage, Sean Connery, John Travolta, Robert De Niro and Marky Mark.

4. i am going to canada via syracuse, ny in july, and had to purchase my tickets WAAAAAAY early because we're afraid the ticket prices will go up dramatically due to the rising oil prices. are you travelling this summer on a vacation? No. I'm remaining close to home and enjoying it.

5. is there any movie this summer that you're looking to see this summer, or any books you want to read that are going to be printed & released this summer? tell us about them... I don't even know what's being released, so I can anticipate seeing /reading it! LOL I'm too far behind and have my hands full with other pressing issues.

6. what is your favourite vacation destination, and why? Don't have a favorite. Something new, something different is always exciting.

7. have you heard about netflix.com? if so, have you joined/are you planning to join, and why/why not? if you haven't heard of netflix.com, go there and tell us what you think about it. personally, i'm an addict on the "5-out" programme... I've heard of Netflix and know subscribers. Of course, they tout the no late fee mantra, where they keep a movie for two weeks plus. However, I challenge them to tell me how the "no late fee" applies, when they're paying $19.99 monthly fee regardless, of which DVDs are in their possession?

Also, Netflix is increasing it's membership fee to $21.99 per month. I'm not paying a monthly fee for the luxury of keeping the latest blockbuster for two or three weeks plus. During this time, I can't receive any new selections until the old ones are returned to Netflix and by my calculations, I could've simply gone out and bought the movie!

8. are you a good flier? i have problems on takeoff, but landing and flying are no problem. I don't do flights exceeding three hours. So, you know I haven't been to the east coast!

Daily Dirt

Party Like It's 1999...

1. Do you party a lot? No, my partying days have eneded. However, when I partied, I partied hard!

2. If Yes: Do your parents disapprove? If No: Would you like to? I don't miss it. I've been there and done that.

3. When was the last time you went to a party? Can't remember. I'm sure not counting birthday parties.

4. Would you rather go in a big group of people or just a few close friends? At this stage, a few close friends. Of course, they'd be the loudest of the bunch, so we'd make noise like a huge crowd.

5. Is there a party you regret going to? No, even the most boring ones had their poignant moments!

6. (Bonus): When was the last time you threw a party (if ever)? I never have.

Which movie[s] ...

1] ... do you most want to see right now? Well, I'm assuming that these do not have to presently be in theater. Here's my list:

Calendar Girls

Runaway Jury

50 First Dates

Scary Movie 3

13 Going on 30

Spiderman 2

2] ... always triggers a special memory for you? Disney movies, of course, always bring back memories of going to the movies with my mom. We saw every Disney feature released and they're happy memories. By association, these memories also evoke the grandeur and ornateness of the old single screen theaters, with the plush seats and balconies. The balcony is where the teenagers would sit and neck during the film!

3] ... makes you think the most about home? There isn't one particular film. Film's about family gathered round the table eating together and talking all at once, with laughter thrown in here and there, remind me of home.

4] ... do you identify the most with? No, not really.

5] ... was totally horrible and a complete waste of time? Oh dear, that's a loaded question! LOL

Magnolia

Zoolander

Matrix 2 and 3

Rocky's 3 through how many are there?

Jeepers Creepers 2

The Fast & the Furious

Here are some interesting facts I found about ice-cream. They came from the book called "Dates with the Greats" by Susan Ohanian. May 13, 1777 was the first public advertisement of ice cream. Confectioner Philip Lenzi announces in the New York Gazette that his ice cream "may be had almost every day." During the summer of 1790 George Washington runs up an ice cream bill of about $200 - very roughly the equivalent of about $6000 in today's money. Thomas Jefferson also likes ice cream a lot. He creates his own 18-step recipe for making it. Dolley Madison is the first First Lady to serve ice cream at White House state dinners. That leads us to today's questions: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

First, ice cream is one of my favorite desserts and second, I can't limit it to one kind. I like chocolate, strawberry, pineapple sherbert, french vanilla, vanilla bean, rocy road, prailines and cream, vanilla fudge, I could on!

Mommy

1. Were you a good little boy/girl and call you mom on Mother's day? Absolutely, I went and spent the day with my mom. We had an early dinner at a favorite Chinese food restaurant.

2. Did you go so far as to actually get her a gift? If not, on a scale of 1-10, how guilty did your mom make you feel? My mom knows her gift is coming in a couple of weeks. My spouse, however, gave my mom gifts and I'm confident that was more than sufficient! LOL

3. What's the funniest thing your mom does? She has famous one liners: "Well, anyway we HAVE to eat." "I didn't know that." "No, I don't remember."

4. What's the one thing your mom can get away with with you that no one else can? Getting me to eat even when I'm not hungry. She rarely cooks these days, so I feel extremely guilty if I don't eat.

Annual Luncheon

It's time for the CEO's Annual Luncheon, where personnel from the various departments join the CEO for a big pow-wow. I received my invitation today and promptly panicked, until I noticed the date...I am on vacation the day of the luncheon and am saved!

Nothing puts me to sleep faster than a meeting or a situation that is boring. I have no desire to lunch with the CEO or make small talk. We're in the midst of major layoffs again and morale's at an all time low. What's the point in having the luncheon? The money would be better spent keeping personnel.

What's the best amusement park ride you've ever been on? Seeing as how I'm always going to Disneyland, that says a lot about the rides I'm attracted to. LOL They can't be rough and don't like speed. I guess, I'll have to say The Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Carribean. I go for the eye candy and entertainment value!

The Thursday Threesome

::Fax Cover Sheets::

Onesome: Fax-- Do you have access to or use a fax machine at home? Just curious... I do have a fax and I still have a need for it. Is that something? I read an article a couple months back that predicted the demise of the fax machine and inquired - rhetorically, of course - if anyone even use a fax anymore.

I use the fax machine a lot, especially at work. When it comes to signatures, contract agreements, vendor requests, billing...they want to fax the paperwork. No one wants to use email and this is for legal purposes. I don't believe the fax machine is dead, not by a long shot!

Twosome: Cover-- Hey, summer's coming! What type of cover up do you use when you're out in the sun? SPF4000? Sun clothes? A hat? "What sun; I live in a cave?" I don't use any suntan lotion. I sometimes where a hat/cap, but then my head perspires! I like to be outdoors and feel the heat. I don't bake in it, though!

Threesome: Sheets-- 120 count or 180? (Okay guys, you're exempt , but you could ask someone who knows!) Definitely 180 count, it's the only way to sleep.
