Weather
Been thinking about the Florida folks hit hard by hurricane Charley and keeping them in my prayers. The news footage I've seen shows a lot of devastation and my heart goes out to these folks. I'm a native Californian, so I haven't a clue what it is to survive a hurricane.
Our weather, for the most part, has been very mild. It hasn't been hot at all and it feels like fall's already arrived. I'm thinking that with such a mild summer, we may have a scorching fall? I remember one year in the mid nineties, it was like 85 degrees on Thanksgiving day and no one wanted to eat such a heavy traditional meal.
I miss the heat...the 90 plus degree temps and the gorgeous hot summer nights. We haven't had any of that. It's been a very different and cooler summer. Now, if you asked my mom, she'd say it's been one the best summers yet! LOL Especially, since she has no air conditioner this summer.
In anticipation of the hot days ahead, her air conditioner was removed in late May. We intended to buy her a new one once the sales came out. Well guess what, since it's been so darned cool, the stores haven't had the usual great incentives and air conditioner sales. Oh well, the best made plans!
