Movie Watching

Watched the excellent film Walk The Line and was very impressed with Joaquin Phoenix's and Reese Witherspoon's singing and acting. I have never been a Johnny Cash fan but this film’s inspired me to give his music a listen. I’m looking into a greatest hits compilation, unless someone cares to recommend a specific album?

Walk the Line was more upbeat (yea I know) than Ray. I felt cheated by Ray Charles' musical expertise when much of it was drug induced and not really relative to his life experience. At least Cash wrote and sang about his emotional prison and the deep feelings it evoked.

I wanted to see Memoirs of a Geisha in the theater but just never got around to it. Omigod, this film is cinematic eye candy with its vivid colors and beautiful cinematography. The way the story unfolds completely enveloped me and I was too captivated to move for a snack. The film is engrossing and the story telling exquisite. This is a film I want to own (watched it at my neighbor’s on movie night).
