The Bicycle

I drive past the same corner twice daily - on the way to work and returning home from work - and there sits a lone bicycle tethered to a street sign pole. It's been there since Thursday, idly awaiting its owner's return. It's amazing to me that it's been untouched: the seat and tires are still intact, the reflectors are in place and remains undisturbed.

We have many Mormon missionaries that travel through my city daily, so the sight of tethered bicycles around town is not foreign. What is uncommon, is for the same bike to remain in one spot for days. Usually, the individual will reclaim his steed at dusk and ride in to the sunset. So where's the owner? What could have happened to him? Forget reality TV, I have my own reality drama unfolding in my backyard!
