Jr.s BBQ, Culver City, CA

We heard about this BBQ joint on the Food Network and decided to check it out. The spare ribs were smoked to perfection and delicious. The mac n cheese was delightful and the diners friendly. The walls were covered with photos of local L.A. newscasters, talk radio host Larry Elder, Kobe Bryant, etc. The place was so packed, we had to sit at the counter. I haven't sat at a counter in eons!

The last time I did, I was a child. My dad loved to haunt hole in the wall restaurants. They weren't much to look at, but they sure did serve tasty food! We'd always sit at the counter and he'd always tell the waitress, "This is my daughter. We're eating out today and spending the day together." Dad passed in 1990 and it's funny how one simple post about a BBQ joint has led me to reminisce! It's all good, though.
