Coconut chicken soup, Spicy noodles and Siamese chicken rice
~ Cleaning the terrace and realizing I've been spending all of my outdoor time in the backyard. I used to love my terrace. What's up?
~ Dining at our favorite Thai restaurant and enjoying two delicious new dishes, both suggested by our server. Man, she was dead on with her suggestions.
~ After dinner, we were on way to Wal-Mart when Boo remembered the farmer's market. The evening was warm, about the warmest we've had in some time. Cruising the Monrovia Farmer's Market, we were amazed by its size and variety. We hadn't been for about two years.
~ "I can't feel my legs anymore!"
A child's remark to his mom after sitting in a Wal-Mart shopping cart far too long.
~ Boo, excitedly opening the Stanley Workbench bought on eBay. I have yet to buy anything from them, but Boo's going gangbusters! LOL I know, I can't say anything about it since I'm always at Fry's. :-(
~ "They're looking very good. Just a very slight change in your reading prescription."
Optometrist's observation. Great. It's the slight change that comes with age.
~ Watching War of the Worlds and being dazzled by the special effects. Tom Cruise's performance was typical, nothing different. If you've seen him in one film, then you've seen his full repertoire. The story was thin as well. The special effects, however, should be viewed on the big screen at least once. Otherwise, wait for the DVD.
~ "Damn, why did you buy a mega popcorn and mega soda? We're going to dinner afterwards."
Damn the theaters for super sizing everything.
~ Dining at Wood BBQ in Arcadia and beating the dinner rush. The BBQ tri-tip and baby back ribs were delicious, tender and succulent. Punky, Emmet, Boo and I had a leisurely dining experience and great time, despite the crowds that followed. Everywhere we went we found great parking, seating and service.
~ "Oh, let's go look at the Borders books."
An hour later we emerge with Emmet having bought five books. The rest of us were good.
~ Boo's Palm Zire 71 keeps losing its charge and having to be reset. Anyone experience this?
~ Watching Hide and Seek after seeing it in the theater and really enjoying the alternate endings included on the DVD. This is a psychological drama along the same lines as Secret Window.
