Terminating Dial up

Tomorrow is it...the last day I'll have access to my pacbell.net email. I've had this email address since 1994 and its connection has been consistent and never, ever faltered. I thought changing email addresses would be a lot harder than it's been. I've adjusted and am not as sad. All of my contacts have migrated to the new email address, I'm using a gmail account. I don't want to commit to a POP3 account anymore. I have one of course, it came with the new DSL service, but I don't give that address out.

It's been a pain trying to remember to re-subscribe to email lists I enjoy. I've also been trying to figure out what to do with all those unread emails. You know, the ones I didn't view because the dial up had become so painfully slow, I rarely checked my email. Now they've added up to 600 unread emails and believe it or not, I once entertained the idea of forwarding them to my new address for viewing later.

Alas, I've decided just now to chuck them all. I can't possibly be serious and I realize the absurdity of even considering it. LOL I must've been out of my bloody mind! So instead, I'm just letting the account go dead. I'm not even bothering to delete the emails. When they pull the plug or flip the switch, whatever it is they do, it can all go into the giant bit bucket and literally byte it!
