New Music

Have I told you all how much I like Circuit City? I love this electronics retailer because they have kick ass prices on new CD releases. This week I bought Carole King's two CD set The Living Room Tour. It contains all of Carole's hits from ... yea, it's been that long...the seventies. Her voice still sounds strong and beautiful as it did at the height of her success. She's accompanied by two guitarists and Carole on piano - that's it. The tunes are melodic, soulful and refreshing. I'm really enjoying it.

I also bought Carly Simon's Moonlight Serenade. Yea, any Carly fans know that she hasn't realeased anything for awhile. It's a cover CD of many ballads and Carly's voice is beautifully suited to them. The orchestration's are nice and hearld back to Sinatra. I'm not saying Carly's as good as or better than Sinatra. Carly's too unique for such a comparison, just as old Blue Eyes is. These CDs make for great listening in the office, which is exactly where I enjoyed them!
