Success!!! Doing the Happy Dance

Yes, I have finally recovered/salvaged all 257 photos from my 512 meg CF card! I phoned LC Technology's tech support this morning - sorry, no toll free number; it was a long distance call - and was assisted by a very nice, patient and knowledgeable tech. I explained how the demo version listed 247 photos found, but the paid version repeatedly recovered the same 50 photos and would shut itself down after 30 minutes or so of operation.

He walked me through, talked to me about my configuration and had me check the creation date of my photo recovery software for digital media, it's here where he determined that I was using an old version of their software. He emailed me a patch and voila! my photos were recovered in 40 minutes flat. I was elated!

Photo recovery software should be in every digital photo enthusiast's arsenal. It should be part of your software utility pack. Right alongside your virus, spyware and hard drive utility software. Photo Recovery for Digital Media has a clean, uncluttered and easy to use interface and one does not need to be an expert to use it.

There's a free demo at their website that will scan your card and list all the photos it found. The demo will not recover any images. You must purchase the software and I can honestly say that this is the best $40.00 I've spent. It's worth the price and I'm prepared if another compact flash card becomes corrupted!
