Thursday Threesome

::Computer Anti-Virus Software::

Onesome: Computer- What was/is your first computer? A clunky old Commodore or something a touch more modern? Whoa, now you're going waay back....it was a Timex Sinclair computer, replete with programs on audiocassettes that you played through a generic cassette player! The monitor was a 13 inch TV.

I then graduated to a Commodore 64 with a 5-1/4 inch floppy external floppy drive and an amber monitor. See, I no longer used a lowly TV! But the baby I really consider to be my FIRST computer is....the 128K Apple Macintosh with its 9 inch built-in monochrome monitor. I went online for the first time in 1984 on a .... brace yourself....300 baud modem that I had to re-solder the connections myself in order for it to communicate with the Macintosh.

Twosome: Anti-Virus- Have you ever had a computer virus? How bad was it? Or are you one of the lucky ones who have managed to avoid them? I've received only one virus thus far and it was a MS Word macro virus. It wasn't difficult to eradicate at all.

Threesome: Software- What piece of software really made you more productive on your computer. ...or, as in my case, less productive? *g* The word processing program MacWrite. Man, I would just zip along with letters, class assignments, DTP articles, etc.
