Ahhhh!
Our gorgeous So Cal weather has returned, a little late for last night's freezing game and 6-2 loss, but I'm so happy it's back today. We've been enjoying ourselves in the sunlight and the longer days. I'm so excited because it's the middle of May and summer - my favorite season - is almost upon us.
Have I mentioned that I bought the Dave Matthews Band new CD Stand Up? It's a lot jazzier than his previous stuff and I like it. It's a nice change from their earlier work and I like it when artists expand and experiment. A good example of this evolution is Elton John. Initially, all of his tunes were pop with a smattering of rock thrown in for good measure.
His music took a dip and became more melancholy, reflecting what he was experiencing, and then he emerged with soundtracks to a various Disney movies. Along the way, he lost some of his core fan base, not everyone digs orchestral music, but he equally acquired new fans with his experimentation. Elton's willing to take risks and explore, which is what I like about him.
