Some cats will always make a dash for the door, even if they don't want to go out. Training with a water spray bottle or a shake can may help.

As a kitten, Buddah learned that he could go outside only when accompanied by either Boo or I. When we open the door, he sometimes exits before us, but he'll wait on the step for us to catch up! LOL
