Little Girl

While walking through the neighborhood Punky's dog stopped and, wagging her tail as if looking at a friend, peered into some bushes. When Punky stooped to see what was going on she recognized Little Girl who hissed! LOL Our neighbor came knocking on our door to say she was positive she'd seen Little Girl.

LG went missing mid-December 2005 and I wondered and fretted about her fate. LG adopted us some years back and whomever had her before declawed her, being defenseless and not knowing her whereabouts really put me through the wringer.

So Boo and Punky walked two blocks west of us to a very busy and dangerous intersection. When Boo saw and called her she meowed and hissed at Punky. As Boo sat down and called to LG, did not run away or struggle, she simply meowed. In time she came to Boo and allowed herself to be scooped up. I was in the middle of showering so couldn't go.

She's quite hungry and very thin. I don't know how it is that she couldn't find her way back home from two blocks away. I'll always wonder if she left voluntarily or was chased by a dog and lost her way. Of course, I'll also worry about her leaving again. She's an outdoor cat and Buddah will not accept another cat indoors.

She has a vet appointment to chip her and give her a flea bath. She is infested with them and has tiny bites everywhere. She's eating like a horse and for now we have her in the garage. Hopefully we can keep her there for at least five days until she adjusts and then the inevitable...let her outdoors and take our chances.

Meanwhile, the complex is jubilant and all the neighbors ecstatic. Oh yes, Punky's baby will get an extra special treat...her very own package of chicken breast. Yup, she likes chicken and it's time for Punky to get cooking. LOL

  1. I so wouldn't be letting her outdoors. I have 5 cats and all are quite happy and well loved inside.

  2. I'm SO HAPPY for you for finding her again! It's nice to hear on the week or so off of being Snaggle's 1 year anniversary of being missing.

Maybe she's been staying away but nearby out of fear of a neighbouring tomcat or dog or wild animal you aren't aware of? poor thing!

if she's infested with fleas she'll need to be wormed (as you'd know of course!). Give her big hugs for me ok? at least one of our lost ones made it home. *CRINGE* is it bad to wince that I thought what I would be able to or not able to do if Snaggle made it home? I'd have to see if ma could take him in now as I don't think Snaggle and Max would hit it off!
