Take Me Back Tuesday

Musical Firsts: (How many can you remember) Uh, this is the pivotal question!

First CD/Album Purchased: No surprise, it was a re-purchase to the then new format Elton John's Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy

First Concert: Marc Boland & T. Rex at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. They don't even have concerts there anymore! My cousin Rachael treated me and it totally opened my eyes, ears and very essence. There was no turning back - ever.

First Over 21 Show: Don't know.

First Musical Obsession: Elton John

First Musical Crush: D.C. I won't write out the name, though, some will figure it out.

First Musical/Musical Movie: The Pinball Wizard starring, who else, Elton John. I also recall standing in line for hours to see Bowie's movie The Man who fell to Earth. The theater was so packed we made it in for the midnight showing.

First Stereo: Geez, my mom bought a combo turntable, stereo and cassette player for my bedroom. That's a purchase she quickly regretted as I'd blast my music throughout the house.

First Portable Device/Player: LOL LOL Try an eight track player that looked like a dynamite blaster. The main unit where the eight track was inserted was square and attached was a "T" shaped handle. I think Panasonic made it.

First Musical Format Owned (i.e. LP, Cassette, 8 Track, CD) Ugh, I hate to admit it....eight track.

First 45/CD Single Purchased: Brenda & the Tabulations Right on the Tip of My Tongue

  1. DAVID CASSIDY! LOL. I had a crush on him, too!

I loved reading your blast of the past!

I had that same 8-track player. Hmmm. I guess I should have used that as my pick, but I forgot! Mine was blue, was yours?
