Wednesday Whatevers
1. Do you prefer today's world or would you prefer the more simplistic
past? One of my favorite Twilight Zone episodes is when a man, who's totally
stressed out by his job and hectic pace, boards a train to commute home and
dreams about an idyllic place circa 1920s.
When his stop is announced, he awakens and finds that, though
the town's name remains the same, he's disembarking into a different era -
circa 1920s. I sometimes do wish that I lived in much simpler times. Not the
horse and buggy days, maybe circa 1920 or 1940.
2. What does Valentine's Day mean to you? I don't really know. I guess it's
the day to publicly demonstrate one's love and affection for another. I
can't help but feel that it's also very superficial.
Many "couples" don't have loving, respectful relationships but come
Valentine's Day, they break out with the chocolates, flowers or jewelry,
lavish dinner and whatever "the beloved wants to do".
When you truly love and respect someone, Valentine's Day should be every day. Your loved one should be treated as if today is all you have and tomorrow's no guarantee. My spouse and I have an agreement that we never go
to sleep angry with each other. There's no guarantee we'll awaken next morning.
3. What types of books do you like best? I like self help or religious
books. I have so little time to read and my attention span is very short. If
I'm going to read, I want to read something that will help me grow and
expand. Help me become a better person and interact better with people. I
don't want to go through this life blindly.
What's on....Right now?
It's time to tell us........
What's On your calendar Right Now?
- Four birthday celebrations
- One christening
In my family and extended family, there's at least one birthday every month until July. From August thru September more birthdays and then holidays are upon us. It keeps me busy and I must confess to enjoying it! LOL
