My Birthday
Yesterday was my birthday and I had a fantastic day. It began wonderfully with spouse singing Happy Birthday and giving me the most beautiful card and my gift. The card expressed wonderful sentiments that I believe hold true. My gift was a one gig SD card for my Muvo MP3 player. I am so jazzed about my gift. I've wanted a one gig SD card for awhile now and you know, I am going to be busy this weekend ripping tunes to the card! LOL
At work, Boop and the gang took to a delicious Chinese restaurant, sang Happy Birthday to me and then sang again when it was time to cut my cake! Lunch I'd anticipated, but not the cake. It was a day of fun, chatting, joking and general relaxation. Some work got done, but honestly, not a whole lot!
I arrived home and my great neighbors called movie night. They bought my favorite meal - pizza and we watched Spanglish. I was unfamiliar with this film but thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially since it was filmed in my back yard - Los Angeles. I think it correctly captured the ambiguity Latinas experience in their acculturation process. Many others try to assimilate and find it doesn't work. Anyway, it's an excellent comedy and Tea Leoni did an excellent job of playing the neurotic housewife. Paz Vega is an actress to watch. She was charming and captivating and Penelope Cruz, J. Lo, and Selma better watch their backs! LOL After the movie, we had pineapple upside down cake and it was time to call my day a night!
