Renaissance Faire

When we first met, spouse took me to the Renaissance Faire in Calabasas, CA. I'd never heard of the faire and hadn't a clue what one did or saw there. I remember our first drive out there, it seemed so far and foreign, like we were hundreds of miles away from home. I felt excited, giddy and eager to arrive. As we approached the Paramount Studios Ranch (the Renaissance Faire rented the property annually for the occasion), this expanse of rolling hills, meadows and trees lay before us. It was clear and open as far as the eye could see.

Minstrels, Kings, Queens, jesters, etc. were walking about, some eating giant turkey drumsticks as they mingled, and everyone seemed to be dressed in Elizabethan clothing. It was strange yet, intoxicating and fun. We attended the faire for several years until the company lost its lease at the Paramount Studios Ranch. Well, the faire's back this year at a new venue near our home and I'm once again eagerly anticipating attending. Since they're in constant play/acting mode, I'll count this as attendance to a play! ;-) Mojo:This will fill my desire to attend a play in 2005, okay?
