Reading

I've been feeling very pleased with myself because not only did I finish reading a novel the weekend of July 12th, but I'm in the middle of another novel!  It looks like my dry spell has ended. I can focus and concentrate on what I'm reading and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's really quite relaxing and I try to read a chapter each evening. However, if I don't/can't, then I don't worry about it. I simple make sure to do some reading during the week.

It's great to rediscover pleasure in a previous past time. I once was a voracious reader and belonged to several book clubs. I was never without  a book and preferred reading to TV viewing. Reading a book allows my imagination to create the scenes described on the page. It's magical and  fun.  Reading is also quite educational; I expand my vocabulary while being entertained.

I'm going to consider checking books out from the library. It's not simply the expense, it's also the space. Once read books need someplace to be stored and they're awfully heavy to move! I learned that lesson a long time ago. It's no fun packing and moving boxes of books! Unless I can buy used paperbacks for very cheap, this way I won't mind giving/throwing them away once read, I'll consider the library or borrowing from co-workers.
