Podcasts
Have you tried listening to podcasts yet? They're amateur audio blogs created by Jane and John Doe's like us, on every imaginable topic. You need to download software like iPodder, iPodder X on to your computer. The software has an address locator (just like the browser you're using to view this) where you input the URL for the Podcast (audio program) you want to listen to daily or weekly. By subscribing to programs, the software does the work of checking for new programs and automatically downloading them. The next time you sync your MP3 player, the downloaded podcasts are transferred to your player for listening.
I listen to a lot of tech related podcasts and, of course, Adam Curry's show, The Daily Source. Yea, the same Adam Curry that's the former MTV VJ. He's the guy that coded the software and got this Podcast thing rolling. The name is misleading because any MP3 player will do. One does not have to own an iPod, nor does the player have to be a hard drive based one. It can be flash memory based. The Podcast Directory is a great source for locating Podcasts and the iPodder software includes its own diectory.
